The Cocopah Indian Tribe and National Wildlife Federation have partnered to co-host the first-ever Tribal Lands Climate Conference--bringing together leaders from more than 50 tribes to address the growing global warming crisis.

The Portland-based Northwest Earth Institute is inviting Salem residents to organize groups to learn more about global warming. A meeting is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Straub Environmental Center, 1320 A St. in Salem.
