Puffin decline seen as warming signal

A report released Wednesday June 4, 2008. said that puffin numbers have fallen 30 percent on the Isle of May off the east coast of Scotland, home to the largest puffin colony in the North Sea. The puffin population off Scotland's east coast has dropped by nearly a third in less than five years, prompting scientists to issue warnings about the orange-beaked seabird's future.
