If long-term climate change is really happening, as most climate scientists say it is, the next set of weather normals, calculated every 10 years, should be higher still, and so on for as long as we keep emitting heat-trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Half a degree doesn't mean a whole lot by itself, but keep adding them up, and we could see some significant changes in the American climate.
